University Apartments
The University Apartments are the most recently built of the university-owned residential accommodation, offering a stimulating and supportive collegiate experience with academic and pastoral care amidst a creative and vital community.
Situated at the top of College Road in Sandy Bay, the apartments sit amidst natural bush providing habitat for native fauna, including the endangered Tasmania Swift Parrot, which frequents the native blue gum trees. The apartments not only have sweeping views of the Derwent River but of the city of Hobart, Sandy Bay and Tasman Bridge, with Hobart’s Mount Wellington as an impressive backdrop.
The apartments are self-contained, and sleep six people. Laundry facilities are located on site in close proximity to the apartments.
Floor Plan and Layout
There are 29 apartments located on the Sandy Bay campus:
28 x six bedroom apartments
1 x five bedroom apartment
Each apartment has two bathrooms, two study areas and a shared living, dining and kitchen area.
Kitchen and Cooking
Each apartment boasts a modern fully-equipped self-contained kitchen, where residents can cater for their every culinary need. In addition residents can purchase meals and basic groceries on site from Pepperz Cafe Bar Restaurant which is open from 8:00am to 8:00pm daily.
Furniture and Services
Each apartment is fitted out with dining table and chairs, as well as two 2-seater lounge suites and a small coffee table. The television, complete with eight Austar channels and a DVD player, is available in the common area for all apartment residents. In addition to the shared television, each bedroom is equipped with an antenna outlet for your own television if desired. The lounge area spreads out to an outdoor balcony, with outdoor table and chairs to sit and enjoy the panoramic views. Within each of the bedroom wings are an additional study area with table and chairs.

Each fully furnished single bedroom contains:
- king single bed, mattress and mattress protector
- wardrobe and mirror
- heating
- study desk and drawers
- ergonomic chair and desk lamp
- internet connection (you must supply your own computer)
- security locks
- pin boards/white boards
- heater.
All rooms and residential blocks are non-smoking.
