Welcome to Accommodation Services’ Off-Campus Housing. This new service is being introduced in 2010 to offer additional choices in accommodation to students studying, or enrolling to study, at the Hobart and Launceston campuses of the University of Tasmania (UTAS) or Australian Maritime College (AMC).
What is Off-Campus Housing?
Off-Campus Housing provides an alternative way to renting properties at UTAS through an on-line listing. The listing covers a wide range of types of accommodation catering to most needs and budgets.
Who can use the listing?
The listing acts as a point of contact between potential landlords and tenants. Any rental arrangements entered into are strictly the responsibility of users of the listing.
While primarily directed at students the service is also available to UTAS staff. Off-Campus Housing provides the opportunity to view, compare and rent properties before travelling to UTAS to study or work.
For property owners and managers it provides the opportunity to expose their properties to a large market of prospective tenants with diverse accommodation needs. There is no charge for using the listing.
Agents and Property Owners can submit their properties to our online listing.
Access to Additional UTAS Services and Facilities
UTAS students renting properties on the Off-Campus Housing Listing may have access to a range of other services offered by Accommodation Services at its on-campus sites.
Additional services include:
- food at on-campus @ resident prices
- access to academic support programs
- social events and pastoral support
- computer labs and use of gyms, squash courts and other recreational facilities
