Leprena is a university-owned self-catered residence set in an environment conducive to effective study practices and responsible social development. Leprena was established in 1985 and refurbished in 2001. The word 'Leprena' is of Tasmanian Aboriginal origin and means 'home'. 

Leprena has:

• 6 x five bedroom units
• 7 x six bedroom units
• 1 x three bedroom units
• 80 x single bedrooms.

Room details

Each bedroom in Leprena contains:

• a single bed, mattress and mattress protector
• a wardrobe and mirror
• heating
• a desk and drawers
• an ergonomic study chair
• internet connection (for UTAS students only – you must supply your own computer)
• security locks
• pin boards/white boards.

All rooms and residential blocks are non-smoking.
