Accommodation Services

 A variety of facilities and services for residents are available on both the Hobart and Launceston campuses.

Hobart 

The Accommodation Services administration office is located on College Road, opposite the University Apartments and next to the laundry. Opening hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

The following services are available through the office:

Check-in: Residents moving in will need to complete any necessary paperwork, have their room card activated and set up their phone and internet accounts.

Payments: Cash payments for accommodation fees, phone and data accounts and any other required payments are accepted between 8:30am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday. All other payment methods can be used between 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively payments can be made using BPAY or online.

Mail: Mail is placed in the pigeon holes in the foyer. Parcels and registered mail are held in the office with a mail slip placed in the pigeon hole: collection requires the signature of the addressee.

Other facilities and services:

• Maintenance: Maintenance requests must be lodged online
  
  
• Bus: A free bus service is available during semester for residents only. The service runs to the Clinical School, School of Art, Conservatorium and main campus. Timetables are available from the office.
  
  
• Laundry: The laundry is open from 8:00am to 12:00 midnight daily. Access is by your room card only.
  
  
• Computer lab/resource room: This room has computers with full internet access, printing and photocopying facilities and is open 24 hrs a day.
  
  
• Dining and meals: Pepperz Cafe Bar Restaurant is open seven days a week and meals are available to eat in or take away. Your student ID card can be loaded with credit to pay for meals and snacks.
  
  
• Sporting facilities: Squash courts are available for resident’s use and a small gym is located in Christ College. Both are open from 8:00am to 10:00pm daily. Keys for the squash court are available from the office. The university also has a sport and recreation facility located at the bottom of the campus with a full gym, various classes, tennis courts etc. Students are entitled to a discount on membership fees.

Rubbish: Rubbish is collected from the two colleges, however, the apartments and Mount Nelson villas are required to use the wheelie bins and put them out for collection weekly.

Recycling: John Fisher College, Christ College, the University Apartments and Mount Nelson villas all take part in the local council recycling program.

Launceston

The Accommodation Services administration office is located on level two of the TUU building on Queen Elizabeth Walk. Opening hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

The following services are available through the office:

Payments: You can pay for accommodation fees, phone and data accounts and any other required payments. Alternatively payments can be made using BPay or on line.

Mail: Mail for Kerslake and Leprena residents can be collected from the mail room which is located directly across from the office. For residents at Investigator Hall, mail is placed in the pigeon holes in the laundry. Parcels and registered mail are held in the office with a mail slip placed in the pigeon hole. Collection may require a signature.

• Computer lab: A computer room with full internet access is available in each residence and is open 24 hrs a day.
• Dining and meals:  Saltz Cafe Restaurant is open seven days a week and meals are available to eat in or take away. Your student ID card can be loaded with credit to purchase meals and snacks.
• Sporting facilities: the university has a sport and recreation facility located on campus with a full gym, various classes, tennis courts etc. Students are entitled to receive discount on membership fees.
