Using your Meal Card
Undergraduate UTAS and Australian Maritime College residents can use the Meal Card as a prepaid system. Your student card will double as your Meal Card, and can be topped up from the office and/or online.
You must present your Meal Card to receive discounted meal rates.
The Meal Card system can make it very easy for parents or guardians to provide 'food dollars' and so effectively manage a resident's meal allowance.
Dining at our Cafe/Restaurants
Pepperz Cafe Bar Restaurant in Hobart and Saltz Cafe Restaurant in Launceston are located within walking distance from most student accommodation areas. Pepperz and Saltz offer a wide range of food. Emphasis is on a 'healthy choice' menu.
Lunch is served between 12:00pm and 2:00pm, with dinner available between 5:30pm and 7:30pm.

'Flexible Choices' catering
All accommodation options provide for self catering. Units, apartments and flats each have their own kitchen that is shared with other occupants.
If you are in one of our single college rooms, communal kitchens at each residence are available for you to use. These kitchens include all appliances, white-goods and equipment, but no utensils (pots, pans, crockery and cutlery) are supplied.
In addition to the shared kitchens, kitchenette facilities are located throughout each college.
